Can Man Boobs Ruin Your Life? It’s Sad, But Maybe…

The other day I was doing some research on living with man boobs and so, of course,  was searching the internet.  It wasn’t too long until I typed “can gynecomastia ruin my life” into the search engine and I found this post on Yahoo! Answers.

”I have had them (man boobs) for as long as I can remember I am 16 and a bit chubby here and there not fat. But anyway my man boobs have bothered me my whole life! I could never swim in public or around my friends and I really want to It is very embarrassing! They look more like women boobs than man boobs they are very feminine! What foods have lots of testosterone? and what has estrogen that I can stop eating? I want feel good about myself

This made me sad for a couple of reasons.  First, some of the responses in the “answers” section were just down right mean.  I understand that they might have been written by kids but it’s just another example of the degradation of the American youth, in my opinion.  Besides, I’m pretty sure that some of those answers came from mean adults.

The second reason is that the kid is way off and he really just wants to lose his man boobs so he can feel normal and not be embarrassed.  He asks “what foods have testosterone” and doesn’t even realize that no food foods can help.  Testosterone is a hormone created by the body.

So, I didn’t have to go far to find my answer to the title of this short blog post.  Man boobs, gynecomastia, moobs, male breasts…whatever you want to call it…can ruin a person’s life.  This kid is only 16 and he is already on the internet and asking strangers how can fix a problem that causes him to not want to take his shirt off and play at the beach or in a pool like a kid should.  A kid should be able to do those things and if he already can’t at that age, then it is ruining his life.

Just a short note on a Friday night.  Take care everyone.
